Hi peeps! This is Christine with my lovely furkid, Cookie. Since young, I wanted a pet of my own and I fell in love with Shih Tzu when a friend bought hers to my place. I still remember I couldn’t stop hugging and holding her dog. When my hubby agreed to let me get a dog (initially he only allowed dwarf rabbits), I searched online for pet shops that have Shih Tzu for sale. There was only 1 shop with Shih Tzu and off we went.
Cookie was the only Shih Tzu available that time and when the shop owner took her out from her playpen, we fell in love looking at her playing with a tiny soccer ball. We decided on the spot that she is the one and brought her home that very day.
1. What’s the story behind your pet’s name? Is there a special meaning or a funny story?
We didn’t know what to name Cookie at that time. Cos her fur was very brown that time and we decided to go with Cookie. She will always wait for us at the door when either 1 of us is out and if we are in different rooms at home, Cookie will lie in between so that she can keep tabs on both of us. She is very sweet in her own little ways and will always be close to keep us company, greeting us excitedly when we are home.

2. What do you look out for if you’re looking to buy pet insurance?
In my opinion, I will look out for the amount of coverage. Vet fees can be very high for pets and insurance will help to offset a bit of costs involved. Entry age is key as some might have adopted their furkids at their later years and there might not be insurance available for purchase.
3. What do you like most about Silversky Protect pet insurance?
I love that Silversky Protect Pet insurance has the Complementary Therapy coverage. Sometimes follow up treatment as recommended by vet after surgery could be very costly. Not forgetting it might takes a few treatments before the furkid could fully recover. The coverage would at least defray some cost.
4. What’s the naughtiest thing your pet has ever done? Do you think pet insurance can cover it?
Cookie hasn’t done anything super damaging so far, thank goodness! I did hear from my friends that their dogs were sick and had to go through major operations. Pet insurance will definitely help to lessen their burden a little.

5. Any suggestion or advice to people who are still shopping around or considering pet insurance?
Good for those which provides good coverage and ease of claiming when needs arise. We need to have 1 burden off the mind while focusing on our furkids recovery.
